Privacy Policy for SOLED Boards

Overview

SOLED Boards ("the App") discovers and controls SOLED Board devices on your local network. This policy explains what data the App and the broader SOLED Board system access, use, and store.

Information Collected

Through the App itself, we do not collect or store any personal information. The App communicates directly with SOLED Board devices on your local network, and your configuration settings (airport lists, LED setup, display modes, board names) are stored locally on your device and/or on the board hardware.

Through the SOLED Board hardware and our server, limited technical data is collected. SOLED Board devices connect to a weather-data server operated by Mason in Motion, LLC to retrieve aviation weather (METAR) data. As part of this communication, the boards transmit:

• The board's local (LAN) IP address

• The board's public (WAN) IP address

• The board's hardware (MAC) address

This data is used to deliver weather data to the correct device, distinguish between multiple boards, and support troubleshooting. IP and MAC addresses can be considered personal data under certain privacy laws (such as GDPR and CCPA), so we disclose this collection here. This information is not linked to any account, name, email, or other customer identity.

App Network Behavior

The App periodically checks whether the weather-data server is online by sending a simple status request. The App does not send any personal data, board data, or usage information to the server. All board control and configuration occurs directly between the App and your boards on your local network.

Local Network Permission

Apple requires apps that scan local networks to request your permission. The App requests Local Network access solely to discover and communicate with SOLED Board devices. It does not use this access to identify or collect information about other devices on your network.

Data Retention

Technical data collected by the server (LAN IP, WAN IP, MAC address) is retained for up to 30 days, after which it is removed in the ordinary course of operation.

Information We Do Not Collect

We do not collect:

• Names, email addresses, or phone numbers

• Precise location data

• Advertising identifiers

• Third-party analytics or tracking data

Third-Party Services

The App does not integrate any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services.

Children's Privacy

The App is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected by the "Last Updated" date above.
